The Le Fleur Studio in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania

Avelina Carbungco Florendo's golden years plans became bi-oceanic traveling to and from the Philippines to the United States after the passing of her husband Atty. Herminio Florendo of 59 years.  Inspired by the true-to-life edible flowers that her hands and fingers sculpted, a workshop studio in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania was designed and opened to all sugar art enthusiasts.  Avelina's private and group workshops on sculpturing edible foliage, flowers, orchids, and mostly the tropical flowers indigenous to the Philippines.  Students from ages 12 to 60 have enjoyed the art of La Fleur d' Avelina.  Her creations have graced holiday events, wedding bouquets, topped arrays of desserts, saved as party keepsakes, pleased our dear ones rooms in hospitals and nursing rooms, and offered as floral offerings to the Blessed Virgin.  Everlasting indeed!
